The Avery desk by LumiSource has a tempered glass top that is supported by a bentwood base that sits on hairpin metal legs. It retails at $460.
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. — As part of its ongoing efforts to provide home office solutions, LumiSource has added two new small-scale office groups that include desks, chairs and lighting.
The small-scale office additions are part of a trend in the home office segment that coincides with an increasing number of people working from home. They aim to provide pieces that can go in any room setting including the living room, bedroom or dining room, not to mention a dedicated home office.
"Office has always been a category of ours, but we have recently have expanded it," said Kelly McCarty, company marketing specialist. "We have a lot of smaller space writing desks and computer desks for smaller apartments and condos."
These include the Glacier desk and the Master home office chair, which comes in different color options including white, black and gray.
Retailing at $290, the desk has a 25.5-inch by 47.25-inch wide and 30-inch high work surface and an angular base made from clear tempered glass. The Master home office chair retails at $190 for a version featuring a chrome frame and for $260 for a version featuring a gold frame.
Completing the set are the Glacier table lamp and nesting oval strap storage ottoman.
The chair is expected to be available June 15, and the desk is expected to be available July 20.
The company also recently introduced the Avery desk, another small-scale piece that is 31 inches high and features a 23-inch by 44.5-inch work surface. Retailing at $460, it features a tempered glass top that sits above a bent wood base supported by hairpin metal legs. It is currently in stock and ready to ship.
Also new is the Oracle chair, which comes in three colors, black, white and a gray-blue tone. It retails at $165 and is also in stock and ready to ship.
This group is shown with the Noah table lamp, which has a metal base and an arched wood support that connects the lamp to the base.
"Because of the situation we have now, office has become a big seller for us," McCarty added in reference to the COVID-19 pandemic that is having people seeking to carve out work and small office spaces within their homes. "We expect it to continue because there are a lot of companies announcing they are letting their employees work from home."
